Puja Shah- Social Media Organizer
Puja Shah recently graduated from Emory University with a degree in Environmental Sciences. When asked why she chose Gandhi Earth Keepers International: “I grew up with an influence of Gandhi’s principles, as my grandfather would share books and stories with me. I found an organization that shared my worldview along with my passion for environment.” She plans to pursue her Master’s in Public Health in the near future and eventually work in Public Health Management with a concentration in Environmental Health. She has conducted research on Ayurveda treatments, Bush Medicine for Diabetes, and Mosquito Resistance Mechanisms. Her volunteer abroad helped feed her interests in the connection of environment and disease. She loves to dance in her spare time and has 20 years of experience in 7 different styles. Her experiences as vice president of a cultural organization, captain of a dance team, and many others have built her leadership, management, and marketing skills.
Michael Salotto: Field Organizer
Michael Salotto has been steeped in a love for the outdoors since childhood. Living a bike’s ride away from the High-tor Wildlife Management Area and across the road from some of the last mature American Chestnut’s in New York, he grew up with an appreciation for nature and a sense of conservation. This sense was further cemented when he attended ECO, an alternative middle school education program focusing on the environment via experiential learning and group projects, from 2004 to 2006. Michael is currently finishing his BA in Psychology at the University at Buffalo. From there he plans on entering the human services field as a counselor while eventually getting his Master’s in the niche he finds.
